The United Kingdom created a broader cryptoasset regulatory framework in 2026, but the main new authorisation regime is not yet fully in force. HM Treasury says the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Cryptoassets) Regulations 2026 will take effect in October 2027. That timing matters.
