What the US digital-asset framework said in September 2022
Archive note: This article summarises US policy documents released in September 2022.
US agencies published reports responding to Executive Order 14067 on the responsible development of digital assets. The framework addressed consumer and investor protection, financial stability, illicit finance, US competitiveness, payments and work on a possible central bank digital currency.
The release was a policy framework, not a single comprehensive cryptocurrency law. Individual recommendations required separate agency action or legislation, and their status can change over time.
